The Dark Side Hosts Men’s Tennis Home Opener

Thedarksideofucsb.com had the distinct honor of sponsoring the men's tennis home opener that was held on Wednesday, March 9, 2005.

The Gauchos beat Cal Poly 6-1 to start off the Big West season with a bang. Cal Poly was the only loss last season in the conference, but the Gauchos were able to get their revenge.

The Dark Side provided the money for pizza, sodas, and chips for the approximately 100 fans who attended.

Matt Coin, co-captain of the tennis team, said, "Thanks to thedarksideofucsb.com. We were able to raise awareness about the tennis team and get some new fans for the men's tennis program."

Many of the fans received Dark Side tee shirts. The Dark Side sponsored the event in order to raise awareness of how much fun non-alcoholic (and substance free) events can be and to spotlight the outstanding tennis program at UCSB.
